Brookfield RTC Endorses Mark Boughton for CT Governor

Mark BoughtonConnecticut Primary Date, Tuesday August 14

Candidate Mark Boughton writes:

Aside from pointing out the fairly obvious fact that Lamont is an out-of-touch millionaire with virtually zero experience in the public sector, the paper also correctly stated that my track record of success makes me the best candidate to move Connecticut forward.
For the past 17 years, I’ve had the honor of leading the City of Danbury as Mayor. Under my leadership, we’ve put people over politics to stabilize taxes, cut unnecessary red tape, speed up the permit process, and watched our businesses flourish. We do everything we can to keep money in the pockets of the people who earned it. Danbury has been named the second-best city to live in in the country and the best small city in Connecticut to start a business. Our unemployment rate is 15% lower than the state average, and we have the highest year-over-year job growth across Connecticut. I recognize that government doesn't create jobs, businesses do. We must let our job creators and entrepreneurs revitalize our economy.
Danbury's success can be the model for Connecticut's future. I have a plan to stop the run-away spending in Hartford and roll back the unnecessary burdens on the hard-working people of Connecticut. By rebuilding state government and lowering the income tax until it is eliminated, we will provide working people the relief they need to raise families. As we start to show the country how serious we are about getting our fiscal house in order, that stability and predictability will prove to prospective job creators that Connecticut and our workforce are the right fit for them.
I am the only candidate in this race with the pro-growth, Republican vision and the proven leadership skills needed to bring Connecticut back from the brink.  It’s time to put our state, and our home, back on track. Together, we can be Connecticut’s Comeback.
